Outlook emails do not consistently display images which were put into task comments

We have tried adding Jira to the safe senders but it makes no difference

We have ticked all settings which allow downloads of images

Hello @Andy Bell

Welcome to Atlassian Community.

Per your description, I understand that the notifications sent from Jira about your issue comments are not properly rendered in the e-mail. Is that correct?

We have a bug about this behavior where high-resolution images are not properly rendered in Jira notifications:

Adding an Attachment with High Resolution Breaks the Email Notification

Feel free to vote and watch the bug to increase its priority and also receive notifications about its fix implementation.

Let us know if I have properly understood your issue or if you have any questions.

Hi Peter

I don't think anyone in our team would be aware of if their images are high-resolution or not.

What's strange is that the images always display when I view the emails in web browser-based email (office365.com)

And also, I have added the Jira sender name to the safe senders list in my desktop-based browser.

Hello @Andy Bell

Indeed, I can understand how tricky that bug can be.

Just to confirm if you are indeed facing this bug and not something different, can you test if the same behavior reproduces when you try to add a small image (200x200)?

Additional to that, we found another bug that can be related to your issue:

Image is cropped (almost the whole part) when opening email notification in Outlook

Can you check if the scenario explained in that bug applies to you?
