Hi @Ram ,

Re: attachments, and according to https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-72553, you could run a cronjob at the OS level to delete attachments or use some suggested plugins as described in the 'workarounds' section. Or you could move them somewhere else if you want to keep them.

Re: issues, you could archive them as described here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/archiving-an-issue-968669980.html

Hi @Ram

You may want to check out Issue Archiver & Attachment Housekeeper for Jira Data Center.

The benefits of the app

  • Safe - "soft deleted" attachments can be restored with no data loss within the retention period
  • Traceability - keeps the metadata records of the removed attachments
    • E.g. filename, creator, datetime, size
  • Flexible - able to select the types of attachments and issues for bulk removal
    • E.g. housekeep support zip for tickets resolved > 6 months
  • Reliable - automatically processing in the backend without causing performance issues
    • E.g. we tested housekeeping 1 million attachments

You can check out the following resources too

It is also a good practice to housekeep unwanted attachments before migrating to Jira Cloud.
