How to mock JIRA API (python)

We want to write a unit test but cannot make calls to JIRA API or let's say something might have changed in the JIRA issue but we do not want to make changes to unit tests yet then what is the best way of achieving that

I am afraid I don't understand what you are trying to achieve here. Can you kindly try to reformulate and/or provide more details?

I understand that for some reason you cannot succeed making calls against JIRA Cloud REST APIs, but without getting any detail on what you are doing exactly I cannot do much to help here.

Can you kindly let us know:

1. The REST API endpoint called
2. The authentication method used
3. The outcome of the call (e.g. the error message returned)

Not sure which part is consuming. So I do not want to make REST API calls in the unit test but want to mock them. Is there a way to do so in Python?
