Hi everybody,
I'm looking for a way to migrate a single Jira project from server to cloud. The Jira project that is currently running on a local installation is hosted at a development partner. There for we have restricted access, not global admin. And can't do a full backup, due to the data from other parties. How could i do a full backup and restore of a single project to facilitate the migration to an own cloud environment? So that the historical data is preserved.
if it were me, with only one project, I would simply export the issues to CSV and import into cloud once I had the project setup the way I wanted. Maybe a day's work. There are migration addons out there but I have not personal experience w/ them.
Yeah, i've thought about that. How ever i've gotten a notice by my colleague that there are to much items to export and that excel than fails. Maybe this could be solved by the usage of csv. How ever how do i get all the attachments and comments at the right place when i pursue this line?
Given that i'm unfamiliar with the csv export. does this also preserve the chronological dates?

To test out the suggested senario, i've tried to export to csv and got the following notice:

Is there a way to work around this or a default way to facilitate these exports. For example through the usage of a midle man, Atlassian, to ensure that we only import the project of our company and that the other projects are left out. Securing the needs of our development partner?

Assume you have reviewed the documentation already? If it doesn't help you might want to check the Marketplace for an addon to help w/ this.

Thank you for your quick reply. i have. Thats why i've started this thread, it is part of the problem that we have limited acces to our Jira instance. We are project managers at best.
