There are 2 JIRA cloud instances under our company, recently we are planning to merge both of them together and trying to do some researches

In Atlassian community we have seen a number of issues discussing on how to perform it back from 2016, hence we are curious if there are any recent update/ proposed procedures how to do it

Especially there were some concerns on how to preserve the attachments cuz those were the concerns

Please Kindly reply to easonyim@prenetics.com for the above concerns thanks

Hi @Eason Yim,

As far as I know, there is  no direct way to achieve this. However, we can achieve using an alternate approach that I have documented below:

  1. Get the data and attachments from cloud instance1 (Need Atlassian support help)
  2. Get the data and attachments from cloud instance2 (Need Atlassian support help)
  3. Restore the data and attachments from cloud instance1 as server instance1
  4. Restore the data and attachments from cloud instance2 as server instance2
  5. Merge server instance1 into server instance 2 or vice versa. This decision depends on efficiency and effort needed for merging projects between the instances
  6. Upload the data and attachments of the merged server instance to cloud (Need Atlassian help)

Please note that Cloud instances may have a limitation with regard to the maximum attachments that can be downloaded or uploaded as part of Step1, 2 and 6. You need to rely on Atlassian support team's inputs while executing Step1, 2 and 6.
