Hello @Pavan kumar Mamidipaka ,

You just need to remove the field from the edit screen only

Hello @Pavan kumar Mamidipaka

In the future please make sure you are posting your product functionality questions in the Questions forum for the appropriate product.

This one should've been posted in Jira / Questions.

Also, please refrain from posting the same question twice. It appears you posted this question a second time also in this same area of the community.

@Pavan kumar Mamidipaka

Since you're using Jira Service Management and want the Group Picker field to be editable only during issue creation and read-only afterward, Jira Cloud doesn't provide native field-level read-only functionality for custom fields.

A possible workaround is:

Add the Group Picker field to the Create Issue Screen.

Remove it from the Edit Issue Screen.

Keep it visible on the View Issue Screen so users can see the selected value but cannot modify it after creation.

Hello @Pavan kumar Mamidipaka if you really removed it they can't edit it anymore maybe you are in the wrong screen focus in which issue type you are working and go to the correct screen and then remove it

On your Screen Scheme, you will have three Operations.
Create, Edit, and View.
You can have different screens for each of these.

To make a field read only it should be on the Screen used for the View operation but not on the Screen(s) used for Create and/or View.

Something like this:

Hello @Pavan kumar Mamidipaka
you need to go here then remove it and not from that screen
Open screens then go to the main Scheme you will find the create and the edit and the view screen open the edit screen and search your field and remove it at the right when you hover the mouse

@Pavan kumar Mamidipaka

Jira Cloud does not provide native field-level read-only permissions for a custom Group Picker field. Could you clarify:

Should the field be editable during Create but read-only after issue creation?

Should it be read-only for all users or only specific users/groups?

Are you using Jira Service Management or Jira Software?
