How to link issues from a different instance of Jira on create screen?

Is there a way to Link issues from a different instance of Jira on create screen ? I know we can Link issues from a different instance by clicking on "More" option from the issue view screen once the issue is created, which will give us an option "Server" to select a list Jira instances. I would like to use this functionality on the create screen. I tried using Linked issues filed, it is only looking for issues in the current Jira instance.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Mani,

I don't think this can be done in Jira at the moment.   While you can create issue links on the create screen, it appears this is limited to just the issues in that specific Jira instance. 

There is a feature request to expand the abilities of that Issue Link field on the screen to provide the functionality you get from the MORE->Link option.  Please see https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-64888 for details.

Unfortunately, I could not seem to find any plugin in the https://marketplace.atlassian.com that would be able to provide this functionality.   But I would still recommend watching that feature request for updates.  If another user finds a work-around for this, those tickets tend to get updated with information on this.
