How to link a workflow to a kanban board ?

I have setup a simple workflow for the cards status
Backlog
To Do 
In Progress

Done 

My Kanban board doesn't reflect the status even when I add the columns and assign the status to the columns.

Hi Bernie,
It is necessary to associate the workflow with the project and narrow the board's filter down appropriately before you will be able to associate statuses with columns. Cheers!

Hi Joshua
I have associated the workflow with the project and the board filter is only excluding done > 2 weeks.

When I add a new card it messages that the card has been added but can't be seen
