How to install jstack on Redhat 8

John Edwards August 31, 2020

We have Jira on redhat 8.

We are using AdoptOpenJdk 1.8.0_202 that came with Jira.

I want to troubleshoot performance issues.

Articles on troubleshooting talk about using jstack to create a java thread dump.  I can't find jstack on our system.

How do I install this?

Hi John,

in order to get jstack working you need to install a JDK separately, it is not part of the Jira installation.

There are plenty of how-tos out there, I will try to link one here but please double-check if it suits your needs.

Regards,
Daniel
