How to increase the character length | Link custom field

Hi,

We have a requirement to have a link field and right now it is limit to 255 character length, could it be possible to increase the max length?

I have a feeling that requires code change, which can't be done on Cloud.

I too believe the same, is there a way that we can use some plugins to overcome this kind of situation.

You could simply use free-text fields to paste urls into, and I think the actual link systems work fine. It's just url fields that are limited.
