How to implement field composition

brucezhangrh April 16, 2020

When I add tickets, I need to use two menus, and the options selected from the menu correspond to the multiple fields specified below

The only option in plain Jira for this is to use a cascading select list field.

If you have one of the scripting apps, you might be able to get a bit closer (I'm only familiar with the Behaviours module in Scriptrunner, as I work for Adaptavist, I don't have a reason to look at other apps)

Maybe  I will give you an example

When I create a ticket on jira,There is a field name called 'change type' and and its options are A and B. When I check A, the field name is 'DB name' for me to fill in, and when I check B, the field name is 'VM name' for me to fill in

I don't know if this description makes sense to you

I'm sorry that I couldn't find the type of field you said was ‘cascading select list field’ in the custom field.

I also didn't find a similar plugin in the Atlassian app store

Could you tell me how to find and use the cascading select list field

I would appreciate it

On the left hand side of the screen, there are three options.  Select the one that says something like "advanced fields" or "All fields" and you should be able to find "cascading select" in the list of field types to the right
