My Jira ticket comment sections are filling up with automated messages (in my case from the GitLab integration). I don't want to turn that off, but when looking at a Jira ticket I would like to be able to toggle the view of those comments on and off, so I can more easily see the comments written by human beings. Is that possible?
If the above is not possible, then is it possible to pin certain comments to the top of the display? (I could use that to pin human written comments in a visible place.)

Hi @Oliver.Pavey welcome to the Atlassian Community!
In Cloud, you can only sort comments by 'Newest first' or 'Oldest first'. You cannot filter comments or hide/show comments from certain users.
Thank you @Dave Mathijs. I note you work for Atlassian. Could this be enhanced? Currently the Jira ticket doesn't really serve well as a place to keep notes on the progress of a ticket because those notes are swamped by the automated notes (which in my case come from the GitLab plugin).

I don't work for Atlassian directly, but for a Solution Partner.
I noticed there's already a suggestion for this:
