How to get unassigned 'testing' subtask(parent story has assignee) to show up in unassigned swimlane

Prasad Deshmukh February 13, 2023

How to get unassigned 'testing' subtask(parent story has assignee) to show up in unassigned swimlane. Have a subtask that is unassigned with parent story assigned , swim lanes are set by assignee and option to show unassigned at bottom of all swim lane is enabled yet the "unassigned" swim lane doesnt show up. there is no "story" that is unassigned, only subtaks are unassigned. sprint for the subtask is same as parent story.

Hi @Prasad Deshmukh ,

Can you send a screenshot of the board settings -> Swimlanes?

Hi @Prasad Deshmukh ,

are you sure that the sub-task is using a status mapped to any board column and not in the backlog for example?

Can you also check in Board settings -> General -> Filter if the sub-tasks are part of the filter?

Yes, sub-tak is set to a status which is one of the statuses mapped to one of the columns on board

Board settings -> General -> Filter  doesnt have any clause related to issue type but only assignees in (comma separated list of users) .. donot want "unassigned" as a user as that would cause a different problem of it being treated like a user and names alphabetically separated. to ensure it appears at bottom of all rows, believe there shudnt be any user with name "unassigned" . which also means "unassigned" will not have its representation in the filter jql. am i missin something?

Hi @Prasad Deshmukh ,

Could you please try to add this at the end of your filter (before the order by part):

"or project = "[Your project name]" and assignee is EMPTY"

Hope it helps!
