How to get regional/ user-specific Date formats in Jira Cloud?

Tom Whitmore

Hi all. We have teams in US, Australasian, European and Pacific regions as many dev companies do.

Our Jira Cloud instance is configured to US dates, but non-US users with English (UK) as their language still see US-format dates in many places -- eg. the Date Picker in the Work Log.

Under 'Atlassian Account Preferences' there are settings for language (English UK) but not for date format. However even with English UK set date formats are not as expected.

This is unclear, confusing & does not seem to constitute the proper level of internationalization we are expecting from an enterprise platform.

Are there some settings/ features hidden somewhere non-obvious in the UI?

Hello @Tom Whitmore

You may want to look at this issue and its related issues.

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-80353

Based on its content, date/time formats apparently should respect the user's language preference, but in some cases is not.
