How to fix subtasks appearing twice on timeline

Hello! 

I'm having an issue with the subtasks appearing twice on the timeline - as subtasks under a task (normal) and then as a tasks. Bloating the list on the timeline. 

See below - first is a task and second screenshot is the same thing, but as a subtask

This was not happening before and it looks like it changed. Any ideas if this is an issue others are having, and how to fix it?

Hi @Juliana Silva 

This looks tricky; I did a test here using a Jira Work Management Project and checked the Timeline view. Is your scenario the same?

I can't reproduce the same behaviour you are describing, and there is not much to configure on this feature. See below:

Perhaps this is a bug on your site; not sure. I also could not find anything related to that on the Jira Public tracker.

Hi Alex, 

Thank you for your quick reply. Yes, this is very strange as it wasn't happening before, but now it's across my business projects. I tried checking the configurations, but there aren't many things to change. For reference, these are Team Managed - Business Projects - Content Management templates. 

I tried deleting the sub-tasks and creating it again within the task, and the same issue happened. 

This is only happening in the Timeline view, not on the List. On the list it shows up correctly. 

Do you know anything else I can try?

Yeah, that’s weird at minimum. I’d put a ticket for the support team because It sounds like a bug in your site.
