How to export hours logged per epic, story & task in Jira

Alexander Fransson April 19, 2022

Hi everyone!

As there is no easy way to export time logged per epic during a specific time period in Jira I am now turning to you for some advice.

I have several customers that asked what we put our time in during the last month for detailed bookkeeping and how to distribute the time to their books.

I've scimmed through the forums and got a lot of different inputs, but when you get to many options the choice gets harder to make.

We use a Toggl time tracking service that loggs the time per issue, so we can see time logged per days, hours, minutes and seconds in Jira and Toggl.

I am now looking for a good choice to export this every first of the month to get the full picture.

Any advice of a plugin that will help me to optimize my workdays?

Hi @Alexander Fransson ,

You describe one of core use cases of Pivot Report we develop:

You can check this demo report here (no login required). Export is available in Excel and HTML formats. On top of just time tracking report, you can get Issue Structure and Pivot tables

Hi @Alexander Fransson

To view your entire epic hierarchy in a CSV format, you can try out our plugin

Agile Tools : Epic Tree & Time in Status

The app also provides sum up at each level for time spent and story points.

The app also provides a CSV export with the hierarchy of your issues and time spent at each level.

(Disclaimer: I work on RVS, the vendor for this app)
