In the All work tab I have a query and I want to export the results, since today I don't have the kebab menu and the filters are also under a button. How do I export now?

Hi @Celia_Bras

When I just checked this, it now appears to only way to do this from a JQL search is to

  • select the Apps dropdown
  • select "Open in Google Sheets", "Open in Microsoft Excel", etc.
  • and deal with any browser pop-up notifications

Kind regards,
Bill

Can you share a screenshot of what that looks like. I don't find any "Apps dropdown"

Hi @Celia_Bras,

This has been a common source of confusion recently. Jira has been rolling out UI changes that moved (or removed) the export option from some views.

Here's where export currently lives depending on which view you're in:

From Work item search (advanced search): The export options have moved. As @Bill Sheboy mentioned, you may now need to go through Apps in the top bar to find "Open in Google Sheets" or "Open in Microsoft Excel." If you don't see the Apps dropdown, try accessing the search via the full URL: https://your-site.atlassian.net/issues/ rather than the project-scoped All Work tab.

From the project List view (All Work tab): Jira has been gradually migrating from the old search interface to the newer List-based interface. In this newer view, the classic CSV/Excel export via the kebab menu may no longer be available. Atlassian has been consolidating export into integrations with Google Sheets and Excel Online instead.

A workaround if those options don't appear:

  1. Copy your JQL query from the All Work tab
  2. Go to the global Work item search (/issues/ in your browser)
  3. Paste your JQL there
  4. Look for the export option in the "⋯" menu or the Apps dropdown

It's a frustrating transition since the old export was straightforward, but hopefully this helps you find it.

Best, Paul

Since the native export situation is a bit messy right now, here's another option in case it's useful.

If you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, JXL has a built-in export to Excel, CSV, or TSV that works from any JQL-based view. You set up your columns how you want them, then export exactly what you see. No need to hunt for a hidden menu option.

Exporting to Excel from JXL

Hi @Celia_Bras

So you are saying that you do not see this option here to export here when viewing All work?
Do you have a different view?
