I am trying to figure out how to edit the checkpoints in a workflow. For example, some say "To-Do", "In Progress", etc. I would like to change some of the titles that are in the workflows that I use. I looked up how to do this and I got so far as to get to the workflow settings but there is no option to edit my workflow. I can see the workflow that I use but I am unable to actually edit the workflow. Any suggestions on where to go from here?
Hi Samuel - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
When you say you want to "change some of the titles that are in the workflows", I am assuming you want to change step in the workflow to a different status and not just change the name of the status. Changing the names of default statuses is very dangerous.
Are you using Server or Cloud? Is this a Classic project or a Next-gen project?
To change a workflow for a Classic project, you will need to be a Jira Systems Administrator.
Hi John,
For example, I would like to change one of the statuses that is titled "Done" to "In Review" or at least add a step in the workflow to include this checkpoint. However, I am not an admin so i will need to see if I can get access to begin editing.
Thank you!

DO NOT CHANGE THE DONE status to another name!! That would be disastrous for you. You will definitely need to add a new status before the Done step. Check with your Jira Systems Administrator to get that added. :-)

Hi Samuel, a couple of questions. Are you an admin? Are you using Classic project template? If you are unsure can you send a screen shot of what you are seeing? To edit a workflow you would go to Project settings > Workflows > and click the pencil icon to edit the one associated w/ the issuetype in question.

Hi Jack,
I don't believe I am an admin so that is most likely why I am unable to edit the workflows. I will see if I can get access to be able to edit the workflows. Thank you!
