How to display subtasks under issues on a sprint board

Currently we are using a sprint board and would like to display subtasks under our issue's I've seen this done before but do not know how to configure it. We are using the cloud version of Jira.

Just make sure the board includes the subtask types and then try setting the swimlanes to "stories"

(You won't see them in planning, because you don't need them there, but they'll appear on the working view of the board)

I did configured my board to have Stories swimlanes; however, the subtasks are not showing on the sprint board. What am I doing wrong?
