How to display number of Bugs by Environment Types in JIRA Gadget ?

Not able to add "Environment" field as an Statistic Type for JIRA Gadget in Dashboard.

This is because it is useless as a statistic type.  Environment is text, which by definition means every text field is logically unique and not group-able.  If you reported on 500 issues and could use environment as a statistic, you would get 500 unique lines.

if your environments are limited then you could consider adding a single select field called say "my-environments" and then use that. I would try to keep the environments to a minimum w/ short and sweet names.
