I'm trying to deactivate a user, according to the user deletion recommendation in the documentation:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/create-edit-or-remove-a-user-938847025.html
But the documentation doesn't seem to be up to date. I don't see any option to deactivate users, but only to revoke their site access. Does this mean the same thing? The steps are also a bit different.
Hi Riki - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Revoking Site Access is the same as Deactivating the user.
Hello @Riki Levy
Welcome to the community.
According to the tags on your post you are using JIRA Cloud. Note that the document you are looking at is for JIRA Server and Data Center. Notice in the upper right there are two buttons - Cloud, and Server/Data Center, and the latter is highlighted. Always make sure you are viewing the documents applicable to your instance type.
Refer to this document that is specific to JIRA Cloud for information about deleting users.

Thanks, that's good to know regarding the documentation!
Sadly, I still don't see an explanation there about revoking site access.
It also only speaks about deactivation/deletion, while I still don't see the deactivation option anywhere.
