How to customize a Board

I want to categorize the records in a project on a board based on the statuses in the workflows of issue types. For example:

For issue type "Task," the workflow statuses are "Todo," "In Progress," and "Done."

For issue type "Story," the statuses are "Todo," "In Progress," "Approval," "Done," and "Cancelled."

I want to see and manage both Task and Story records on a single board.

Are you working with a Company Managed project or a Team Managed project? That information will display at the bottom of the panel on the left when you are viewing the project.

Are you working with a Software, Service, or Work Management project?

Are you the Project Administrator for the project?

Are you a Jira Administrator?

It is possible to have different workflows (different statuses) for different issue types in a single project. However we need the answer to the above questions to determine if you have sufficient access to make those changes.
