Hi,
Is it possible to customize JIRA for sale of products and services?
The abstract:
At first, a offer is created out of items and services and sent to the client. If the client accepts the offer a contract is generated. The contract is always the same text only with some variables etc. clients name, address and date. If the contract is signed both sides (this can be outside of jira), a invoice can be formed out of the original offer and sent to the client.
All the documents sent to the client has to be in PDF format.
There is a need for a products lists with prices - stock is not needed, but it needs to handle prices changes so that previous offers do not change the price.
Can anyone help me out with a lead how to implement it? You could also say that "nah, this is not possible in jira"
I would imagine something like this could be done in Jira; I use Jira Software and Jira Service Desk together for project requests, purchasing, invoice management, etc.
For a service desk workflow you can check out the add-on Sales and Operations Workflow.
If I were setting it up I think I'd start with setting up workflows in Service Desk to manage the process end-to-end, possibly create some links between the issues and the standard contract in Confluence, link to a price sheet, also in Confluence, and then use either Confluence as a repository for approved contracts.
Of course, that is just off the cuff. You'll need to map out the workflow and data input points and document repositories prior to doing anything in Jira or Confluence; something like this can get very complex very quickly.
Hope this helps,
