How to create ticket in backlog without specifying due date and start date as will pick during worki

Aiming to create ticket in backlog but not sure when that will be added to sprint need info how to do without adding start date and due date, as it reflects in my timeline if  I add

Hi @Bhagyamalla ,

Welcome to the community! 

Jira out of the box does not automatically force you to add start date and due date when you create issues.

However this might be the case if:

  • The Jira admin might have made these fields mandatory in your project
  • There might be a workflow validation in place
  • There might be an automation in place
  • If you are using Plans for your project scope.  There is a setting for automatic scheduling in plans that can inheriting sprint dates or release dates and use them to set start and end dates.
