Hi Chandra - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Can you share the rule that you have so far?
Hello @chandra kumar
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
Are you working with a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project? That information will show at the bottom of the navigation panel on the left.
In the Jira system only one type of issue is allowed that is handled like like an Epic.
If you are working with a Company Managed project and the Epic issue is not present, then the system's default Epic issue type needs to be added to the Issue Type Scheme for that project.
If you are working with a Team Managed project and the Epic issue type is not already available in the project then you add it by going to Project Settings (1), then select Issues (2). Then click +Add Issue Type (3). Then select the Epic issue type (4). And finally click Add (5).

Hey, I am trying to do what chandra had asked about so I can have tasks as parents to subtasks. I added the parent field, but I can't select any issues to the parent field, it keeps saying "issue not found" and won't let me drag & drop. Do I have this configured correctly? (Parent is 3rd field under Context fields). I added it to Sub-Task and Task like this but neither work.

Hello @alisandra_wederich
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
To get better visibility for your question from the whole Community, please start a new Question post by clicking on the Ask a question button at the top of the screen. Include your own description of what you are trying to accomplish, what you have tried, what the results were, and your current configuration.
If this current post from Chandra Kumar is relevant, include a link to it in your post.
The only people who have seen your question added to this post are the original post author, people Watching the post, and the people who responded to the post. That is very limited visibility. Starting a new Question will add your post to the top of the list of Questions for this forum, and have it show up in the Unanswered Questions filter (until somebody posts an answer).
