How to create checkbox for reporter in jira ticket?

Deleted user August 5, 2019

I would like to create a checkbox for a specific kind of tickets in order to let Jira reporter choose from when they have the corresponding request. It should be when they write the description of ticket, they can fill out the checkbox template that we created. Can we do that? Thank you.

Hello Jenny,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

I understand that you would like to configure a checkbox custom field with some pre-defined options in your issue view. Is it correct?

You can add a new checkbox  custom field by performing the steps below:

  1. Select the Jira icon (, or ) > Jira settings > Issues.
  2. Under FIELDS, select Custom Fields.
  3. Select Add custom field. Make sure to select All to view the available field options.
  4. Select the type of field you want to create (Checkboxes) and click Next.
  5. Add the details for your field and select which screens the field should be added to.

Additionally, you can configure different screens per issue type in order to differentiate the "kind of requests" that should have the Checkbox field.

For more information about custom fields, check the documentation below:
