How to create an API token for Service Accounts?

We have a service account and would like to create an API token. How do we do that? I am trying to login as myself and I cannot create an API token on behalf of the service account.

Have you already solved this question?

If not, have you tried to log into JIRA as the service account and then navigate to the API token generation page?  Per Atlassian's support comments on this forum, only an active user can create an API token.  https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/api-tokens-938839638.html
