How to create a custom button for a JIRA issue . The button has to be created using ACE.

Hi,

I want to create a custom button on the JIRA issue page say " Export Issue".

which when clicked calls an external webservice and passes on the Issue details in a JSON format. After this is done, i want to send back an external unique id , which should be displayed in a new custom field on the issue page.

My question is , Can this be done using the Atlassian Connect framework. I have gone through lot of examples, but could not find a solution to my problem.
