How to copy the percentage for an epic to the cloned epic

Edmond Melkomian July 27, 2023

We created an epic with subtasks, as we are making progress and marking tasks done, Jira tallies the percentage, we are currently at 40% done.

When we created the epic, we also cloned that epic.

The cloned epic doesn't have tasks, but for reporting purposes we kept the cloned epic separate from the parent epic.

Since the cloned epic has no tasks, it is showing 0% complete.

Is there a way to copy the percentage progress (40%) from the parent epic into the cloned epic, so when Jira reports, it shows that the cloned epic is also at 40% progress much like the parent.

Does that make sense?

Hello @Edmond Melkomian

The percentage completed for an Epic is not stored in a field. It is calculated on demand based on current information. So, no, it is not possible to copy that value from one Epic to another.
