Hello,
We would like to know about JIRA copy/clone issue from one atlassian jira host to another atlassian jira host.
Is there any plugin available?
Can you please provide the related documents and articles to implement the same?
Our requirement is copy staging environment jira issue to production jira occasionally.
Please help?
Thanks in Advance
Hello Narasimha,
Unfortunately, all the created add-ons to perform this kind of change are only available for JIRA server, however, JIRA Cloud has an import/export functionality where you can optionally perform in different formats and it's completely free.
The most simple format to perform it is by using CSV (Excel) format, where your issue fields will be export in columns separated by comma.
To use this functionality, you can perform the following steps:
Export issues:
- Navigate to your Staging environment > Click on Issues and Filters > Search for Issues
- Configure a query to return the issues you want and click on the download icon > Export Excel (All fields):
Import Issues:
- Navigate to your Prod Environment > type "GG" > Type in the search bar External system Import
- Follow the steps of the application and import the file you have exported previously
Did not see your post, which is a good idea as well when it doesn't need to be automated or on a regular basis! :)

Hi @Narasimha A
Although that I'm with the team of Exalate - another synchronisation solution (next to bb) - there is a small caveat when using such solution for migration.
Synchronisation and migration are not the same use case.
In case of migration, you want to carry over all the data such that you have an identical mirror of the source system on the target system.
Items such as the created date cannot be set using the API's. For instance when you created the issue 2 months ago and then synchronise it today, the created date on the target will be today (and not 2 months ago)
The approach provided by @Petter Gonçalves might be a better approach in case you want to transport all the data.
You would use Exalate as a way to implement life migration - where both systems are kept life for a short period, allowing teams to switch from one system to the other.

Good news! We released an update for Deep Clone for Jira that enables Jira cloud users to clone issues between instances.
You can read more about the Instance Clone feature in our documentation.
Since this is an older post, there might be also other apps in the Atlassian Marketplace that are able to clone between instances: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?query=instance%20clone

Hi,
Welcome on Community. As of now, Cloud allows you to import a full backup and overwrite content only ( https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-migrate-projects-from-one-jira-cloud-application-to-another-779160766.html). That being said you could have a look to alternative solutions on Atlassian Marketplace, one of those being https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1215199/backbone-issue-sync-for-jira?hosting=cloud&tab=overview which I would recommend.
Hope this helps!
Cheers
