How to change timeline bars' colours?

I can't find where to change the timeline bars' colours. Hi @Hok Yan Pun,

The documentation you are referring to is from Advanced Roadmaps, the scheduling tool that is part of the Jira Software Cloud Premium plan.

As it seems you are on a free plan, you only have the basic timeline in your product. You can change the bar colours there as well, but the tool indeed works differently. To learn more, check out this support article.

@Walter Buggenhout  Thanks for the prompt answer! But how do I do that with my basic timeline? My layout is different from the link, and I don't have a colour tile next to my tasks' title/description/summary.

The colour picker is only available on epics. When you open an Epic, the colour picker is next to the title. Child issues inherit the selected colour of their parent epic on the timeline.
