I want to use the Send Slack Message in Automation and not have the messages in the Slack channel show up with my user name. How has anyone configured this integration so that the messages come from the "Jira Automation" or other user?

I also saw in Slack that they will be deprecating their Webhooks integration, so I don't want to implement that and then have to redo it.

Thanks!

You’re right to avoid webhooks Slack is phasing them out, and Jira Automation has a cleaner way to handle this anyway.

In Jira Automation, the Send Slack message action always posts as the Slack app/bot that’s connected to Jira (for example “Jira Cloud” or “Jira Automation”), not your personal Slack user. To make this work, just ensure Slack is connected at the site level (Admin → Products → Jira → Slack integration) using a dedicated integration/bot account, not your own user. Once that’s set up, all automation messages will appear as the Jira bot consistently with no personal username showing.
