How to change the Epic Label on Kanban board back to regular capitalization?

Recently, the epic labels on our Kanban Board changed from regular caps with a color background to all caps with the name and background with color. 

Is there a reason why this changed? Is there a way to convert the colors back?

Here is the previous view and the new view. We are looking to keep the previous yellow view if possible.

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

I don't specifically know why Atlassian made that change, but in most cases changes like this are global across all Jira Cloud instances and there are not roll back options that can be used for a single instance.

Atlassian did make a recent change (at the beginning of June) to deprecate the Epic Name field and use just the Epic Summary field, so the change in display style may have coincided with that. You can read more about that change here, and the change was listed in the Cloud Changes Blog here.

You might want to ask your Jira Admins to confirm that be reaching out directly to Atlassian support to ask.
