How to categorize issues?

Harry Horses October 8, 2018

How do I categorize issues? I've read about components, but they are not available in some project types. I use a next-gen kanban project. It seems quite complicated.

Hi horses,

The next-gen kanban project is just another poor implementation from atlassian. I would recommend migrating to a classic jira software project and building on well established good practices instead of a one size fits all template from atlassian.

Alternatively, you can always add a new issue type to your project to group work more logically.

Thank you for your answer! Would you recommend using components as categories?
