How to capture Custom Status closure ("Done" category in Workflow) with Sprint Complete on Next-Gen

Currently, we have two "Done" Category statuses in our Workflow:

  • "Completed" - legacy "Done" but renamed
  • "Cancelled" - New Status associated to Workflow "Done" Category

Unfortunately, Cancelled items are not being hidden from the Next-Gen backlog on Sprint Complete (which is the behavior for the default status associated to the "Done" category)

This means, "Cancelled" items build up on the backlog. There isn't any way to get rid of them besides moving them to another project, or deleting them (which stinks, because some have context and might be reopened in the future)

You need to change the way you use the board.

Map the "cancelled" status into the "done" column on the board.  The act of cancelling them means they are done so tell Jira that they're done by moving them into the last column.
