Hi all !
I'm trying to understand how can we automate a task creation to be assigned to the user that's filtered in a Company-managed project.
When in a team-managed project this is done automatically, we filter a user, then press create issue and the issue is assigned to the filtered user.
However for teams that are using company-managed projects, this feature is not present, and the assignee has to be added manually every time a new issue is created.
Is there any option to activate this?
Do we need to create an automation rule?
If so, how can we configure it ?

If you want assign a issue to particular user automatically, when an issue is created, You can create an automation rule as shown in the attachment.(please mention the name of user you want to assign instead of automatic).
There is no option to activate the feature you describe in Company Managed projects.
With an Automation Rule you can automatically assigned newly created issues to specified users, but you will have to define the criteria that determines which issues should be assigned to which users (if you have more than one user).
It is also possible to automatically set Assignee based on Components that are added to issues.

Hi Trudy , thanks for confirming that this feature is not present in the company-managed projects, do you have this as a request in your roadmap? can you share the link so we can vote up? if not can this be added?

There is no way to create an automation that will assign a newly issue based on the currently selected assignee-filter of a board.
I don't know if there is a change requests in Atlassian's backlog to automatically assign newly created issues to an Assignee selected by filter in a board for a Company Managed project. I am just another user of the Atlassian products, not an Atlassian team member.
I recommend that you ask your Jira Administrator to contact Atlassian support directly to find out if such a change request exists.

Community Leaders know a lot about the products, and many of us keep notes about Atlassian backlog items that are of interest to us, but we are not Atlassian employees and don't necessarily keep track of the entire backlog. :-)
