I have created new columns within the Kanban dashboard. I now want to assign a status to those columns. Having read through various instruction pages online it sounds like there should be an 'add status' button to the left of 'add column' - I do not have this functionality. Permission-wise, I have administrative rights.
Does anyone know how to assign a status to a column? Is this a license/permissions issue?

Hello,
The button to add a status is available only if you use the default Jira software workflow. I believe that you do not use it (go to Board settings -> Columns). If you do not use it, then you need to modify the workflow, which you use (add new statuses there), and then you will see these statuses in the Unmapped column. Later you can map the statuses.
