How to assign a newly created issue type to an existing active workflow scheme and therefore workflow?

The application says I have to de-assign all linked projects from the workflow scheme first.

This cannot be true, right?!?

Answer accepted

You can copy the existing workflow scheme to a new workflow scheme and then add your new issuetype <-> workflow mapping to the new workflow scheme. Then just assign the new workflow scheme to your project
