How to archive a project? (confluence not accurate...)

I am trying to archive a project, but do not have the options outlined in the confluence doc:  https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/archiving-a-project-938847621.html

I am the primary Jira Admin, so have all permissions. When I go to a project and select the three dots I only see project settings:

When I go to project settings or details, I do not see an option to archive.

Can someone help out? We've got old projects that team members keep adding issues to and I would like to archive the unused projects to prevent this from happening.

Thanks!

Hello,

Have a look at this article:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/archiving-a-project-938847621.html

Project archiving is available only on Data Center.

Hi Emma!

I'll just follow-up with what Alexey noted and suggest changing the permission schemes on those projects so that people no longer have the Create Issue permission.

Most people do this by creating a new permission scheme called "Read Only" and only provide the "Browse projects" permission in the scheme. Then associate the "Read Only" permission scheme with projects you want people to stop creating issues in.

Cheers,
Daniel
