How to add new status to transition stories?

Swetha Subramanian September 18, 2018

I need to add 3 additional status:

1) in the case that we create duplicate stories or bugs and we want to link and close them

2) stories and bugs that we wont resolve because business needs have changes

3)  have a feature built for a future version

Could you please help me with adding these status in my current project.

THanks.

Swetha

@Swetha Subramanian, welcome to the Community. I don't think you want/need statuses here. Let me see if this helps...

  1. you should "Resolve" one of the issues and set the "Resolution" value to Duplicate
  2. you should "Resolve" the issue and set the "Resolution" value to "Won't do"
  3. i don't really understand this. if the issue = a feature that will be developed later then it simply belongs on your backlog. you can set the fix version later when released.

What you may find is that you want new/different "resolution" values which you can certainly add to the defaults to achieve this.

How do you update Resolution.  I have it disabled and is displayed as Unresolved.  I cannot modify it.

if the issue status is in the 'Done' state then you can't edit the Resolution. Try to reopen it and set the resolution and then move to 'Done' again. You should edit your workflow to force the user to add the resolution when transitioning to 'Done'. Basically you add a screen to the transition that includes the resolution field and add a validation that checks for Resolution set.

The story has been changed from To Do to in Progress and i still cannot change the resolution.
