How to add issues from another project to release

Hello everyone!
Is it possible to edit filter query for issues inside release?
We need initiative from another jira project (but also included in this release) to be shown in this list. However there are only one project's issues there.

Releases are project-bound - you can't add issues from another project.

Trying to create an efficient release processes in Jira sure is a struggle when you're managing several delivery teams. The amount of manual work that goes in to each release is crazy.
