How to add existing field in JIRA software project to JIRA product discovery project?

Hello Team,

I have created JIRA product discovery board. Our business has a requirement to add custom scoring framework instead of using inbuilt impact / effort analysis.

We have many projects under JIRA Software and they have custom fields for scoring the weightage of those projects. I would like to use those custom fields on Idea board of JIRA product discovery.

Is there any way to do it? DO I need to do a custom development ? Does JIRA product discovery exposes any APIs? If yes , is there any documentation on how to use it?

Hi @Rupali Kulkarni -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Although Jira Product Discovery (JPD) appears to be built upon team-managed projects, I have not been able to use shared custom fields from company-managed projects, or the site configuration, which were not already in the JPD project.  That may be different for your premium license level so I recommend trying to add a known custom field to a JPD view.

A work-around could be to use automation rules in the JPD project (or source projects) to update fields in JPD to do what you need.
