I am trying to create a dashboard in JIRA that allows each user to manage their own stories and their own estimates for how long each story will take. I created a dashboard that uses a custom JQL filter to pull their own stories. I also added a widget that creates a chart of how much time each story took by week.

I want to add a control that provides a dropdown in the dashboard for us to select different users or different months that will dynamically update the JQL filter.

I can see documentation that shows how to add a control, but in the dashboard there is no way to "add controls" as the documentation states. Are there permissions that I'm missing or have controls and dropdowns been discontinued?

Hi @Ovadia.Dan ,

unfortunately, there is not such a function within any native gadgets. You would have to look to third-party add-on options for that level of flexibility.

Welcome to the community, @Ovadia.Dan.

I am Marlene, product manager of Quick Filters for Jira Dashboards.

With our app you can add a Quick Controller gadget to your dashboard and filter gadgets on your Jira dashboard dynamically.

It is also possible to add dropdown filters for users or months.

You can check out Quick Filters for Jira Dashboards without installation on our demo dashboards.
