How to add a custom status to a mext-gen scrum board?

My next-gen scrum project has four statuses: To-do, In progress, Testing, and On Production. I am looking to add a new custom status based on our needs. I went through the documentation and the steps given aren't visible for the the next-gen scrum project and there isn't much documentation for next-gen scrum projects either. Can someone help if it is possible to do so, and if yes, how?

Thanks Ollie! But It is confusing with old format(create Workflow) as in old thread there is no mention that it will not work for next-gen project.
