While JIRA plans doesn't support viewing/editing the Original Time Estimate field, the way I've managed to work around this is to go to Plan Settings and under Estimates, to change the selection to 'Days'
This provides the plan with a field option of 'Estimates (d)' and this takes the value from the Time Remaining field and displays it in days, which like other fields in the plan can be updated from there as well. This still has limitations as hrs display as long decimals (i.e. 0.857 days for 6 hours) but it's a good workaround for us at least.
