Hi
There are different ways to prioritize the backlog like Kano Model & MoSCoW Model
how to use the techniques in Jira ? Do we need to use any plungins or Is there a way to do it in Jira with out an external pluggin ?
How you guys are handling prioritization in your organizations. Appreciate any Ideas
Regards
Surya
Hello @Surya Akasam
In jira you have lots of customfields, so you can use those to put more fields than priority to issues IN the backlog. You can configure up to 3 fields to show up in your issues in the backlog, you can for example have a select list with M(must)-S(Should)-C(Could) for example.
And have this field show up in your issues in the backlog so you know how to order them. So first you create the custom field, put in screes that are in your issues and the alter your board.
To alter the view of the issues in the backlog you have to modify the board in configuration, and then go to the screen settings of the board!!

Jira allows the adoption of various models beyond the standard priority field for prioritizing your backlog.
I have seen teams who use the Urgency/Severity model for determining how to prioritize issues in the backlog by adding 2 new custom fields with multiple options.
They then use a computation of both.
