Looking for help on cloning an epic with all its child stories?
Is there a way to do so, or addon that is required?
Thanks!
Hi @Dan Aphram and welcome to the community!
Cloning an Epic along with all its child stories is not a native feature in Jira, but there are several ways to achieve this, often requiring the use of add-ons.
As a representative of codefortynine, I'd like to introduce you to our app Deep Clone for Jira, which is designed to handle exactly this kind of task with ease.
Using Deep Clone streamlines the process and ensures that all related issues are cloned accurately, preserving the hierarchy and essential details.
Hello @Dan Aphram
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
Cloning an Epic and its child issues can be done using Automation Rules. However, your tags indicate that you are using a Free subscription. With a Free subscription you are limited to 100 automation rule executions per month. Considering all the automation rules set up in your instance, and how many times you would use this new rule, are you likely to hit that limit?
If you want to explore the Automation Rule solution, there are several posts in the community that describe this solution. Here are a few.
There are also third party apps that can be used. Here is a search of the Atlassian Marketplace that can help you find some of them.
