A workflow question for Jira admins and project managers who manage social media campaigns inside Jira. Our marketing team regularly needs to attach Instagram media assets to Jira issues as visual references for campaign tasks and content approvals. The problem we keep running into is that Instagram provides no built in export option which means previously published photos and videos from client accounts are not available in original resolution once local files are deleted from the device. Our current workaround involves using indown.mobi to retrieve original quality files from public Instagram post URLs and then manually attaching them to the relevant Jira issue through the attachment panel. This manual step adds unnecessary friction to the workflow especially when handling multiple issues simultaneously. Has anyone in the Atlassian community built an automation rule in Jira that handles external media retrieval and file attachment automatically by triggering an HTTP request to an external endpoint and saving the returned file directly to a Jira issue without manual intervention.
