I need a solution to discourage users from assigning a Jira to someone without updating certain fields.
example - assigning a defect to a tester without setting the status to "TEST" and adding a release note.
All the rules appear to be invoked by a change in status. The issue is if nobody changes the status the rules are not invoked.
Any ideas on how this can be achieved?
You can make "loopback" status transitions that have transition screens. This is a transition where the origin and destination status are the same thing. It has the effect of making a user enter some information without changing status.
