Question related to apps on Jira data center.
How often do you update your app in Jira.
We know sometime vendors are updating app more than once per month.
Do you go by major version, every month, 6 months.
Looking for best practice.
How do you manage the life cycle of the apps you are using?
Hi @Gerald Remillard I've been working with the tools for a long time since 2005.
General practice that I try to instill in my clients.
Never go out by a major version.
Always read the release notes prior to an update on minor releases to see if it brings value or solves a bug that you are experiencing in your instance.
Always read the release notes and install security releases or hotfix updates.
My last client we wrote a scriptrunner job that would run once a month and auto update any plugins found with a new version. That's what they wanted, so in the end it depends on the business/dept. standards/governance that's been agreed upon.
